Bunker Quantity Survey Completed in Rosario Port: Accuracy Matters

In June 2025, our team successfully completed a Bunker Quantity Survey (BQS) for an international tanker vessel at Rosario Port, Argentina. Bunker Quantity Surveys are critical to ensuring transparency during fuel delivery and preventing costly discrepancies for shipowners and charterers.

Our certified surveyors boarded the vessel prior to bunkering and conducted a full inspection of all fuel tanks, measuring pre- and post-delivery volumes using industry-standard methods and calibrated equipment. All measurements were cross-verified with supplier delivery notes and fuel receipts to ensure accuracy.

This particular inspection revealed a short-delivery discrepancy of 3.6 metric tons, which was immediately reported to the client and supplier. By acting as a neutral third-party surveyor, Up River Marine helped the client resolve the issue without legal disputes and saved over $3,000 in fuel loss.

At Up River Marine, we combine technical precision with rapid reporting to protect your operational efficiency. Our expertise in bunker surveys, especially in South American ports, sets us apart as a trusted partner for maritime professionals around the globe.
